South Hampstead High School, Independent Girls' School of the Year 2022, has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and inspirational Teacher of Biology to join us on a fixed-term basis.
You will play a key role in the department, delivering stimulating and engaging Biology lessons to highly motivated and talented pupils from Years 7 to 13.
There is also a potential opportunity to teach Science to a Year 5 or 6 class. If this is something that you would like to do or have experience with, then we look forward to discussing this with you at the interview.
We are looking for a qualified teacher with a proven track record and a demonstrable passion for Science and Biology. We also welcome applications from graduates, ECTs and those looking to begin a career in teaching.
The Science Department
The Science Department is a lively, enthusiastic, and forward-looking department with sixteen teachers. There are nine well-equipped laboratories, including three Biology laboratories and a generous allowance for chemicals and equipment, text and library books. Our co-curricular provision in Science is ambitious and exciting, with extensive opportunities available for students in all year groups. Staff lead a Practical Science Club, Competitive Science Club, A Level extension sessions, Science Lit. Club and Gardening Club.
