South Hampstead High School, the 2022 Independent Girls’ School of the Year, has an exciting opportunity for an inspiring part-time PE Teacher to join our vibrant PE Department covering a period of maternity leave.
As a Teacher of PE, you will teach Physical Education to highly motivated and talented pupils from EYFS to the Upper Sixth, delivering a wide range of sports and activities. You will also play a key role in the delivery of our excellent extra-curricular programme.
You will ideally be a qualified teacher, with a proven track record. However, we also welcome applications from ECTs . Expertise in dance and/or gymnastics would be advantageous. There is also the potential for a Head of Aesthetics (Gym and Dance) role for a suitable candidate.
The PE Department
The department offers a wide range of opportunities for all pupils from Reception to the Sixth Form, which helps to pursue our aim of sport for all. We offer an excellent extra-curricular programme, with clubs based around our main sports of netball, football, dance, gymnastics, athletics, cross-country and cricket. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in recreational activities such as yoga, pilates, run club, strength and conditioning, badminton, trampolining and volleyball during lunchtimes.
We have access to excellent sporting facilities, including a full-sized sports hall and an outdoor netball court on site. Our main facilities are off-site at our Sports Ground on Lymington Road. Here we have five floodlit netball courts, one seven-a-side floodlit football pitch, eight tennis courts, a full-size cricket pitch, dance studio, fitness suite and two squash courts.
