Music Administrator
£26,461 – £28,115 per annum (£32,000 - £34,000 FTE)
Full time, term time only
Permanent
Required as soon as possible
South Hampstead High School is seeking a highly organised and proactive Music Administrator with excellent people skills to support the Directors of Music in the Senior and Junior Schools.
About the role
You'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of both music departments, supporting a busy programme of concerts, rehearsals, examinations and trips.
The role offers plenty of variety, from organising concerts and coordinating ABRSM and Trinity music examinations to managing instrumental lesson allocations, communicating with parents and liaising with visiting music teachers. You'll also provide wider administrative support to help both departments run smoothly.
About you
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a lively school environment. A genuine interest in music is welcome, although strong administrative and organisational skills are essential.
You will be a reliable administrator with excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail. You will be confident dealing professionally with parents and colleagues, able to manage competing priorities and remain calm and effective during busy periods.
You will also have the initiative to work independently while building positive working relationships across two school sites. Experience in event or examination administration, or working in a school or similarly busy environment, would be advantageous.
Working hours
36 hours per week, term time only, plus two weeks in the school holidays. The postholder will need to be flexible, as most evening concerts and events will require attendance. Time off in lieu will be provided for additional hours worked.
