Drama Teacher (LAMDA)

Hours: Part-time

Contract: Self-employed

Salary: £50 to £70 per hour

Required from: January 2026

The role

South Hampstead High School is looking for a dynamic, passionate, and imaginative LAMDA Teacher to join its thriving Drama Department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young performers at one of the UK’s leading independent schools, nurturing their creativity, confidence, and passion for the stage.

As a LAMDA Teacher, you will deliver energetic and inspiring one-to-one and small group lessons, preparing students for LAMDA examinations across a range of disciplines, including acting, verse and prose, speaking in public, devising drama, and Shakespeare qualifications. You will work with pupils from Year 7 to Year 13, equipping them with the skills to succeed while fostering a genuine passion for performance within your students.

This is a part-time position, working Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm to 6pm, with additional hours available during LAMDA examination sessions in February, March, and July 2026. You will take over an established timetable of around 30 to 40 enthusiastic students, with full handover support from our two in-house LAMDA teachers.

The contract is offered on a self-employed basis, with termly earnings expected to range between £5,000 and £7,000, depending on pupil numbers. There may also be opportunities to increase this role up to a maximum of five days per week depending on pupil demand in the future.
